Don is the Principal Advisor Biodiversity with Gisborne District Council. Don provides biodiversity advice across many teams in the council and to the urban and rural community. This includes advocacy and education, advice on restoration, managing threats and ecological surveys. Don leads Gisborne District Council’s Protection Management Area monitoring programme for significant vegetation across Tairawhiti. Don has been with the Council for 5 years and prior to that worked for 10 years in the Gisborne Department of Conservation office.

Don will show how to identify, prioritise and control specific noxious weed species found in dunes and other coastal environments before, during and after plant restoration.
