Laura Shaft Chair, Coastal Restoration Trust

Laura Shaft is the Chair of the Coastal Restoration Trust. Laura works for the Northland Regional Council as the Coast Care Coordinator, supporting groups around the region to undertake coastal restoration work. Laura has been extensively involved in education and advocacy on dune and coastal protection and restoration and has been on several stake-holder groups on beach issues including vehicles on beaches. She has over 17 years of practical experience working with community based coast care groups.

Welcome to the conference and Workshop: Monitoring your coastal restoration project

Laura, as chair of the Trust, will open and welcome everyone to the conference and introduce the trustees and conference committee.

Monitoring workshop: Laura will go through how to monitor your project site using simple community based guidelines for assessing the state of coastal dune systems. This will cover dune profiles and vegetation cover.
